Fathom Robotics
Our Mission:
Fathom Robotics is a student-led team spanning two counties, dedicated to providing hands-on experience in STEM fields through the design, building, and competition of advanced robots. Our members take ownership of every aspect of the team — from engineering and programming to business and outreach — developing real-world skills in leadership, teamwork, and innovation. We strive to create an environment where students are empowered to push boundaries and prepare for future careers in a rapidly evolving technological world.
This Seasons Challenge:
This year’s FRC challenge, REEFSCAPE presented by Haas, tasks teams with restoring a coral reef ecosystem by scoring two types of game pieces: coral (PVC pipes) and algae (playground balls). Matches begin with a 15-second autonomous period where robots attempt to score coral for early ranking points, followed by a driver-controlled period focused on scoring both coral and algae in various field elements for maximum points. The final 20 seconds, known as the Endgame, allow robots to earn additional points by parking under a barge or climbing onto hanging structures. Teams must strategize carefully to balance scoring, cooperation, and ranking points while developing teamwork, leadership, and technical skills in line with FIRST’s core values.
